15 alpacas from Netherlands settle in Changzhou

 An alpaca (Vicugna pacos) is a domesticated species of South American camelid. It resembles a small llama in appearance. The 15 alpacas came afar from Netherlands entered China through Shanghai Pudong Airport and arrived Yancheng Wild Animal World on the evening of May 30.

    It is learned that this is the first time that Jiangsu Province imported alpacas. In accordance with the isolation requirements, these alpacas’ fur can not be cleaned so as to remain intact.

    In a 45-day quarantine, some of these alpacas will come into the dealers area of the park to have close contact with visitors, while the others will participate in the national tour activities.
